7 Questions for Kevin Dilmore: Megan wants to know...

NOTE: We want to get to know our guest monologists even better before the show. So we're introducing a brand new feature—7 Questions. Each member of Tantrum gets to ask a question—the same one every time—to our special guests, who can answer them in as much or as little detail as they'd like.

Just in time for our FREE show at the Plaza Library...

Megan wants to know: What makes you laugh out loud?
KEVIN: Vulgarity at inappropriate times (okay, and most appropriate times). My daughter's hard laugh. Bespectacled koala bears getting punched in the face, apparently. And Foghorn Leghorn slapping the crap out of the Barnyard Dawg while screaming, "Ahhhhhh, SHADDAP!"

Check back soon to see answers from our next Guest Monologist—and details about our March performances.

7 Questions for Kevin Dilmore: Michael wants to know...

Michael wants to know: What is the best decision you've ever made?

KEVIN: Applying to Hallmark when I was certain I didn't have a chance in hell of getting interviewed, let alone hired. The sad truth is that most of my hunches, suppositions and gut reactions are wrong.

7 Questions for Kevin Dilmore: Pete wants to know...

Pete wants to know: What was the first album (45/8-track/cassette/cd/whatever) you purchased with your own money?
KEVIN: The soundtrack to "Shaft" by Isaac Hayes. You're daaaaamn right. A double album, too, and it started my love for movie soundtracks that continues to this day (this morning, I pre-ordered the score to "Watchmen" on iTunes). I also remember whenever a neighbor kid needed money, he would swipe albums from his pothead brother and sell them to me for a buck or two. That's how I got my first copies of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," "Magical Mystery Tour" and "The Beatles (white album)."

Josh wants to know: What was/is the most unusual job you've held?
KEVIN: Actually, I haven't held many jobs. I once was elected honorary bean-picker for a neighborhood club, so I offer that as the weirdest elected office I've ever held.

Trish wants to know: What weird thing scares the hell out of you?
KEVIN: Weird as in strange, offbeat or occult? Santeria, ever since that one episode of "Miami Vice." Weird as in something most others would not find frightening at all? Loose dogs. In a house, in a park, anywhere.

7 Questions for Kevin Dilmore: Rob wants to know...

Rob wants to know: What's your first memory?
KEVIN: Had to confirm this one with my mom. I used to shove the metal milkbox under our mailbox on our porch so I could stand on it and get the mail. One day, I slipped off of it and my left leg dragged down the front of it, cutting me in two places. I still have the scars (faintly). Mom says I was 2 when that happened.
